Jack Duran, local attorney, and long time resident of Roseville, is announcing his candidacy for Placer County Board of Supervisors, District 1. He opposes incumbent Rocky Rockholm. His formal announcement will take place on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 10:00am on the steps of the Roseville City Hall located at 311 Vernon St., Roseville, CA (see EVENTS for more info).
Jack's election to the Board will change life in Placer County. He will provide representation that listens and responds to, as well as speaks for, citizens of Placer County. He will conduct the County's business with Integrity, Responsibility and Accountability. As a family man, an attorney, an elected trustee on the Roseville Joint Union High School Board and long time community volunteer, many have seen in Jack the qualities desired in a community leader and have encouraged and support his desire to serve. 
Mr. Duran's commitment to Roseville is long lived. In addition to being a current elected member of the RJUHS Board he has held many positions in Roseville including: Placer County Peer Court judge, President of the Woodcreek Jr. Timberwolves Football and Cheer, member of the Board of Directors for the Hispanic Association of Roseville, and elected member of the Placer County Democratic Central Committee.
Jack is a former Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice, now representing business clients in economic develeopment, construction and litigation matters. Mr. Duran holds a Juris Doctorate in Law from the University of the Pacific-McGeorge School of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Government from California State University-Sacramento. Jack is committed to improving life in the Roseville community. He will bring welcome change to the political landscape of Placer County.
